Ctube Powers the World's Largest Solar Project: The 2GW Al Dhafra Solar PV IPP
The Abu Dhabi Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Project stands as the world’s largest single-site solar photovoltaic plant. Situated approximately 35 kilometers south of Abu Dhabi city in the United Arab Emirates, this project has a financing amount of around $1 billion. It is capable of generating sufficient electricity to power up to 160,000 homes in the UAE and is expected to reduce Abu Dhabi’s CO2 emissions by over 2.4 million metric tons annually, equivalent to the emissions from 470,000 cars.
Ctube’s solar corrugated conduit was selected for this project. These conduits are engineered to withstand harsh environmental conditions, providing excellent UV resistance and high-temperature tolerance. In contrast, ordinary PVC conduits often fade and crack when exposed to prolonged sunlight or UV rays, which can expose wires to sand and sunlight, accelerating their aging. Furthermore, if the insulation layer on the wire surface degrades, it can result in hazardous situations such as short circuits.
